Luz
This collection is rooted in Caribbean heritage, named after my great-grandmother and inspired by her vibrant spirit and love of color. Drawing from my Puerto Rican identity and my grandfather’s guayaberas, the collection reimagines the relaxed elegance and pleating associated with the traditional garment through modern silhouettes. Hand pleating honors traditional guayabera craftsmanship, while authentic bobbin lace from Moca, Puerto Rico incorporates the artistry of mundillo that I discovered during a visit to the local Mundillo Museum. Together, these elements celebrate Puerto Rican craftsmanship, family legacy, and cultural tradition through a modern lens.
